The Hike
Fuel price hike is damaging enough whenever it happens without the adjustments to the people's salary to compensate for the foreseen inflation.
The recent fuel hike is not one that any Malaysian other than the policy makers had ever expected. The direct impact on transportation is so severe that it has grind the fleets of trucks to a halt for a few days already. Next week, the transporters' association will hold another meeting to decide the percentage increase. Brace yourselves. The fuel-tsunami will hit hard.
I speak as a manufacturer of building materials. We've felt the impact of steel price increase and now it must be fuel. The deadliest combination. Again, I would advice, brace yourselves.
