Lina still has Joy
So, the big news was released. It is as I would have expected. Two of the judges are Muslims while the other not. What kind of results would you expect? Sadly, in Malaysia, where the government, actually only the PM is pushing for transparency and just and fair actions and while the judiciary system is trying hard to clean its act, this is an unwelcoming news. Read the dailies and you will know what I'm talking about. Where is the freedom expressed in Article 11?
The ABIM person even dare say that many Malaysians, muslims and not will welcome this piece of news. Mister, you should talk to people first...utter rubbish.
If the majority were to be proud and confident of their god and religion, then why the insecurity? Isn't this very obvious everywhere? Except for some...
For those who plan to migrate to Malaysia other than to do mission works, please find other alternatives. This is Bolehland where all kinds of laws and judgments can be made based on unjust sentiments.

I think the other issue, apart from the obvious, is the religious insecurity amongst the Malay-Muslims has come to a point where the two muslim judges' vote may well have been guided by their fear of getting shot dead the moment they step out of the courthouse. Especially when Lina and lawyers have been threatened with death...

I believe in choices.
Well, and some more I learnt in my Islam class that the federal constitution is above Syariah court..
in the eyes of God she's already a winner
she is a winner from the day she accepted Christ.
we are living in a world of contradictions.
fear seems to be the driving force overpowering trust.
hmmmmm....they need to know Jesus
Well, this door may have slammed shut as a result of injustice.. but there will always be hope of God using her to open new doors somewhere else :-)
hey philip,
i was actually on the bus when the news read mentioned tt the verdict wld be out the next day. i said a word of prayer for her tt moment and even on the day of the verdict. oh yes, some ppl might say "believe just believe la, why must go court"...but deep down, m pretty sure Lina Joy wasn't fighting for her own cause, but for many Christians too. well, altho God didn't answer my prayer (and of many others too), m sure He has a reason for it. cos i sure hope tt thru this, many muslims would see for themselves, whether the religion tt they hold on to is worth clinging on to, if it has to force its ppl to believe...and it's also a reminder to us what a wonderful God we serve - a God who gave us freewill the day He created us.
amen to that sister...God sure has His own wise ways to deal with these situations. He doesn't need anyone to defend Himself. There is no issue He cannot solve. He has answered us...with a lesson. Depend on Him and trust Him. We must begin to see the bigger picture.
