CNY

This is the time of the year, maybe the only besides Christmas where relatives from afar meet. Although being a Christian, we Chinese still celebrate Chinese New Year with much excitement. This is probably the only festivity in the Chinese calender that given the most attention. "Guo Nian", as the Chinese community mostly calls it, brings a sense of a new beginning in a person, family or the community. Coupling it with the Christian belief and practice of forgiveness, the sense of this "new beginning" might just be emphasised. The hope that Christ brought during Christmas transforms itself into reality during the Chinese New Year. What a combination! The Chinese have been so blessed as a nation and as a people group. Should we now turn our attention from a selfish one, and start blessing the community around us with no prejudice or discrimination? Yes, we should. Happy Chinese New Year!

watch this space, I'll be posting CNY pictures soon...
