Leaders' Summit: A brief Overview

A'ight! The DUMC Leaders' Summit 2006@Awana Genting that took place over the past weekend was nothing lesser than exciting, reassuring, moving, compelling, redirecting and awakening. The weeks building up to the Summit were best described as "yo-yo" but more on the high side. We were told to go with an expectant heart and I dare say I did and wasn't disappointed. I expected God to speak and I will elaborate more on this in my next entry which will be much more serious. God is good all the time, a phrase of praise and adoration to the King of kings that many have forgotten. The sound of it echoed through the hall where we meet every time we gathered to begin a session. Trully, it was a time of realigning to God. No Summit or an event such as a huge get-together like this is complete without some fun!Every leader gets a pack filled with schedule, Growth Journal, note book, a note from the Senior Pastor and food voucher!!!!Audrey wasn't included in the leader's pack but Jyh Shyn, Peter, Audrey and I went up to Awana together. This was the first picture taken upon arrival. Here are Chris Chan, the boss of our zone and Peter "fish chai" Lim "pek". Many thanks to Chris for his enduring patience in teaching us during our earlier days in CG and his passing on of the techniques of Bible studying. Peter has always been a good friend and support to me and the CG even when it seems the hardest. Perserverance is one of the keys to success. No days are complete with food. No man can live without food, physical and spiritual. This is Rajawali Restaurant where we dine 3 times a day.The room we were assigned to was big. I share a room with Jyh Shyn, the undisputed Ipoh Philharmonic Ochestra. He plays every wind and string instrument, including the drums at night after the lights are off and sometimes even before. If you ever see the person in the picture in your room at any time, don't worry, he's probably Peter. He's probably there to watch the television.
Our Leaders' Summit Heroes! Or course there many more, like Ballack Kee. That's Adriano Foo. And presenting the Summit Champion, Charlton Ho's team England, I wish. We lost. Peter's reaction to the lost to Brazil in the semis and losing a dance competition against Audrey!
That's Jyh Shyn looking rather..eerm, cissy?sexy? Well, that was taken just before we descend.
One last shot before we make a move...
