Jurisdiction...

Are municipal councils or city councils responsible for the morality of the people? This is my million dollar question. Sometime ago the case of a couple showing their affection in the KLCC park were charged in court for indecent behaviour by the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur. It refered to its park by-laws to prosecute the couple. What constitutes to decency? It is purely a subjective matter.

I urged all local councils to focus their efforts and resources on conserving the environment, improving drainage systems, improving their system for efficiency and do what a council should. We humans are not the sampah, neither are we all sampah masyarakat. Although I recognise that many sampah masyarakat out there, the task of trnasforming ones' life lies not in the hands of the local council. It lies more appropriately in the hands of their parents, spiritual leaders and educators. Local councils have more important things to do than to create bad PR for themselves.

Back to work DBKL and the others out there. Look within for sampah first not without. Clean your acts. Stop the We-are-on-a-mission-for-god mentality. If you believe in a God, you know what morality is. After all we are all subject to judgement from God not some local councils.
