Redemption Sacrifice

In German, it isn't called Good Friday, the name doesn't even reflect anything positive. Not a hint of joy. It is called Mourning Friday. This is definately a day to remember. Throughout history this day has been celebrated without fail. Be it in a joyous manner or not that is another issue. Has the gospel been watered down after thousands of years?

As far as I can recall, every Good Friday the sky turns dark and it rains exceptionally heavy. Like every past Good Fridays, this year's isn't spared from heavy down pour. It started becoming cloudy and dark this morning. The all mighty sun seems shadowed and unable to shine brightly. Clouds, in their gigantic stature adorn the sky. The sound of rain smashing the ground accompanied by the sound of thunder and flashes of lightning marks the rememberance of Jesus' suffering and purpose. Until the rain stops and the sky opens up, Easter remains anticipated.

A plan,
A plan to risk it all,
Your only begotten Son,
Who came not to rule,
Who came not to boast,
Who came not to oppress,
He came to love,
To heal and to forgive,
He came,
He paid a price,
The greatest price,
On the Cross of Calvary,
To redeem us from death,
To set us free,
To bring victory,
We may be called His children,
We do not deserve,
By His grace we live,
Redemption sacrifice.
